The System Council T6 and the CWA Regional Bargaining Committees resumed negotiations with Verizon at the Ryetown Hilton in Rye, NY today. Your union teams presented proposals covering numerous issues ranging from work rules to benefits and compensation. The Company received our proposals and adjourned the meeting to go over what has been proposed by the Bargaining Teams. Discussions will resume tomorrow.
All IBEW and CWA Locals are finishing their Strike Authorization votes and tallying the results. Locals from both Unions across the Northeast are preparing for the July 30, 2011 rally at Verizon Headquarters at 140 West St in NY City. Members from all areas of the Verizon footprint will be joining us in the fight to protect our wages, benefits and working conditions. Every member from every Local should be at this Rally to send a message to Verizon.
