Regional Bargaining Report # 59
Thursday, February 9, 2012
The IBEW New England and CWA District 1/IBEW Local 2213 Regional Committees and the CWA District 2-13/ IBEW Mid Atlantic Regional Committees continued bargaining this past week in Rye N.Y. The committees worked on counter proposals in areas such as healthcare, call-sharing and jobs. More data was received from the Company this week and evaluated by the committee. The research team also provided us information on healthcare plan options and their networks.
The North and South bargaining committees are exploring different options that would combine certain benefits between regions. This is an area that both bargaining teams feel could yield significant savings. We will research this further and decide whether this option would be beneficial for all members.
After 37 weeks at the table there has been very little progress. The Bargaining teams are committed and focus in this ongoing battle. We will remain at the table as long as it takes and continue to work to reach a fair agreement. There are still many open issues for the Union and the Company. We will not let up until every one of our issues are dealt with.
Remember that this fight is far from over. Stay United, Stay Strong and do not listen to rumors. Participate in your own survival and mobilize!!!
Remember to wear RED!!!
Mobilize! – Mobilize! – Mobilize!
Fraternally,
Dave Keating
